Cornelius Police Department Co Responder
Santé is proud to partner with the Cornelius Police Department through our Co-Responder Program. This partnership embeds a mental health clinician directly within the police department to respond alongside officers to calls involving mental health concerns, substance use, emotional distress, and other behavioral health needs.
By pairing clinical expertise with law enforcement response, the program enhances on-scene assessment, supports de-escalation, and connects individuals to appropriate community-based services whenever possible. The goal is to improve outcomes, reduce unnecessary emergency department visits or arrests, and provide compassionate, person-centered care in moments of crisis.
In addition to responding to active calls, the clinician provides follow-up support, short-term case management, and resource coordination to help individuals stabilize and reduce repeat 911 utilization.
Together, Santé and the Cornelius Police Department are committed to strengthening community safety while prioritizing mental health support and access to care.
